Parking access control upgrades on MyCarSpot!

MyCarSpot allows, in addition to optimising the reservation of parking spaces, to manage parking access control. For that, 2 options: camera with plate recognition, or a barrier opening IoT module to control it from the app.

Both options have been recently upgraded to offer you even more services! Let’s have a look at the latest news.

1. Camera with plate recognition

A new model of camera with plate recognition is now supported by MyCarSpot: Vivotek cameras.

The list of authorised plates (vehicles of people with permanent access to the car park, or users with a reservation on the day) is transferred to the camera regularly, for example every 5 minutes. And even if the network is no longer available, the cameras continue to operate in autonomous mode.

In addition, TIL Technologies access control can also connect to MyCarSpot.

2. IoT module

Parking access control can be done via our IoT module connected to the barrier’s automation. It allows thanks to a button in the app to command its opening when we have a reservation.

This module can now control 2 different barriers. The administrator declares a main barrier and the controlled relay. He can also define authorized access times and a group of spaces associated with a barrier.

For more security, the opening of the barriers can be limited according to the IP addresses of the users. For example, it would only allow access to people close to the building.

The administrator can view the status of the communication with the IoT module via a graph and set up the sending of an email in case of a problem.

Carpool, days off, dynamic map… Novelties on MyCarSpot!

Last weeks, our development team worked hard to launch newlong-awaited functionalities by our clients. Little recap of the novelties on MyCarSpot recently rolled out.

1. The types of spaces

After the spaces for bicycle, motorbike or electric vehicule, a new type of space appears: the ones for carpooling.

Also, the admins can autorize the attribuation of some specific spaces which are available (electric car, disabled people, carpool) if the car park is full on the others spaces (standard, small or large car).

2. Diary management

The admins can configure the working days of their company (from monday to friday, from monday to saturday…).

Also, it’s now possible to indicate the occasional days off (public holiday for example). These days will be automaticaly greyed out in the employees diary.

3. Availabilities in the car park

The admin can control the use of the spaces. The page “Availabilities” shows the number of available spaces in the car park. He can also see the detail of booking.

If the company chose the access control with the opening module of the barrier, the columns “Morning” and “Afternoon” would be in red if the space is occupied (detection of the barrier opening by the user), or green if it’s available.

4. Dynamic map of the car park

MyCarSpot can connect to parked cars detection systems, like the Sensit ones by NEDAP.

If so, the app will show a dynamic map of the car park with luminous indicators to inform on the spaces occupancy in real time. The admin will have access to more information about the arrival hour of the user. 

The new version of MyCarSpot: a redesigned user interface

Since few weeks, we have been pushing a new version of MyCarSpot with a fully redesigned user interface which offers a solution to manage corporate parking lots but also workstation reservations.

A redesigned interface. What for?

Since mid-2020 and the COVID-19 crisis, many Customers asked us to extend the scope of MyCarSpot to be able to manage reservations of desks and time slots at the company canteen. To integrate the new capabilities, we have completely redesigned the user interface.

We have been able to achieve the project thanks to ‘Design-Thinking’ methods integrating all stakeholders: designers, marketing, developers, sales and customers.

The new user interface enables to manage the corporate parking spaces, the slots for the company canteen (a user can choose when to go for lunch with a real-time access to the number of spaces remaining) and the office desks. A user can place reservations instantly depending on rights to access the car park or the office. User rights can be different depending on which company site the user wants to go to.

Corporate solution to manage parking lots

The immediate benefit for Customer is to digitalize the management of the company site. The software solution enforces the maximum filling capacity ratio of the site and of every office based on settings put in place by the site manager. The information on which space is free is available in real-time and users know which space they can take.

Opening the parking lot gate is easy from the mobile application as soon as a valid reservation exists.

MyCarSpot FLEX offer is particularly suited for the management of resources: whatever the resource (parking space, canteen seat or desk) the price just depends on the number of managed resources. It’s easy to modify the number of resources managed by customers.

Digital desk management

The solution enables to define teams and rooms associated to priorities. Depending on the settings, the most strategic teams will access the office first (support, sales, marketing, production, …) and offices will be filled while respecting the maximum capacity ration of each office and the entire site. If an office is full, it is possible to define overflow strategies to put team members in other offices depending on availabilities.

Office managers have access to all the data: list of people on site on a particular day, who is at the office and who is expected in the coming days. They can also access a dashboard with statistics which can be downloaded.

Corporate canteen digital management

For the corporate lunchroom, it is possible to define several time slots: 12AM, 1PM… The capacity of the canteen is a setting. The user can select a slot while viewing in real-time the number of available seats remaining. Requests are validated immediately.

Office managers can define a time limit so that it is not possible to book seat at the canteen after a particular time of the day. At the time limit, the list of reservations is sent to the office manager in charge of the canteen.
